1960 Awards
MVP
For the first time in league history, the AARBL MVP award belongs to a pitcher, Vern Law of the Peoria Chiefs. Law was absolutely masterful on the mound as he guided Peoria to its forth straight Eastern Division crown. In 37 starts, Law compiled an outstanding 30-1 record with a 1.92 E.R.A. Law dominated hitters all season long, and won his last 23 decisions. He led the league in wins, E.R.A., winning percentage and innings pitched. In the voting, Law received 8 of the 10 first place votes, and easily bested last season's winner, Willie Mays for the league's top award.

Cy Young
For the second consecutive season, the Peoria Chiefs have a Cy Young award winner. Following in the footsteps of last season's winner, Bud Daley, was Vern Law. Law combined with fellow Peoria hurler Larry Jackson to form one of the top one two punches in league history. Law was simply dominating on the mound, and his 30 wins and 1.92 E.R.A. were both tops in the league, and helped lead Peoria to another Eastern Division title. Law also threw eight complete games, had three shutouts, and compiled a league record .968 winning percentage. In the Cy Young Award voting, Law garnered all ten first place votes as he easily bested teammate Larry Jackson for the award.
