Gil McDougald hit for the cycle
and scored 3 times at Busch Stadium as the
strong So Cal Knights beat the
struggling North Bend Tadjers 10 to
4.
McDougald provided much of the
offense. He smacked a single in the 1st
inning, lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' (his 15th of the season) in the 3rd
inning, tripled in the 6th
inning and doubled in the 7th inning. So
Cal
finished with 10 hits in the
victory.
Robin Roberts(22-6) got credit
for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Ned Garver(1-5)
was the loser. He gave up 4 runs and 4
hits
in 5 and 2/3 innings.
