Cy Young
For the second consecutive year, the AARBL Cy Young race was a tight one, but in the end, the 1957 award went to Frank Sullivan of the Des Moines Dusters. Anchoring a staff that included AARBL veterans Lew Burdette, Early Wynn, and Warren Spahn, Sullivan led the improving Dusters to a third place finish in the Eastern Division. Sullivan compiled a 17-10 record, and led the league with a 2.20 E.R.A., which was almost half a run better than 2.63 mark posted by Peoria's Harvey Haddix. In the Cy Young Award voting, Sullivan garnered 7 first place votes, and was named on all 10 ballots, as he bested Robin Roberts of the So Cal Knights and Jim Bunning of the North Bend Tadjers.

Rookie of the Year
After cups of coffee during the 1955 and 1956 seasons, Jim Bunning, the #1 pick of the North Bend Tadjers (#4 overall) in the 1955 draft, established himself as an ace at the AARBL level. The 1957 AARBL rookie walked away with the award easily besting Ed Bouchee of the Kansas City Athletics. On the season, Senator Jim shined for a North Bend Tadjers team that struggled to remain competitive in the ultra tough AARBL Western Division. For the year, Bunning threw a remarkable league leading 292.2 innings, led the league with 10 complete games and 225 strikeouts, and tied for the top spot in shutouts with 3. Bunning also compiled a record of 18 wins against 11 losses, and had an earned run average of 3.26. In the Rookie of the Year voting, Bunning was a unanimous choice, claiming all 10 first place votes.
